New England Regional Dispensary license deactivated in Massachusetts
Retail license becomes inactive as Massachusetts market continues churn; six other operators shut down in late September.
FILE — closure · Ivan Radic / CC BY 2.0New England Regional Dispensary, LLC's retail license is no longer active in Massachusetts, according to state license records updated October 7. The closure adds to a broader wave of deactivations: between late September and early October, at least six other operators—including Black Harbor Group, Green Theory Cultivation, Nature Medicines, Bada Vroom, and Green Flash Delivery—lost active status.
The closures occur against a backdrop of regulatory activity and moderate market churn. Massachusetts maintains 546 open retail locations and reported roughly $150 million in monthly sales in recent months. While the state received four new licenses in late September (two retail, one cultivation, one delivery), pending applications number just nine, suggesting the market may be approaching saturation in certain license categories.
Recent regulatory actions—including a town-level approval delay reported by Law360 and the state's September public input process on agent registration rules—indicate ongoing compliance scrutiny. Monitor whether closure patterns cluster by license type or region, which could signal enforcement priorities or local market pressures.
