Canopy Growth expands medical cannabis supply into UK market

Canopy Growth has expanded its medical cannabis operations into the United Kingdom, according to Cannabis Business Times. The move positions the Canadian producer alongside other major licensed suppliers in a UK market projected to exceed 140,000 medical patients by 2026, per earlier reporting.

The expansion reflects accelerating consolidation and capacity-building in European medical cannabis. Recent months have seen Tilray announce UK production capacity of 275 metric tons annually, while Organigram acquired Sanity Group and Red White & Bloom and other operators entered the European market. UK regulatory progress—including the Food Standards Agency's recommendation to approve CBD products as novel foods—appears to be creating conditions for larger supply operations.
